Q: What is your favorite revision hack?

A: I use all kinds of hacks to get through life … but not for revision. It’s not because revision is too solemn or demanding a process to be “hacked” – but rather, for the opposite reason: I find it super pleasurable and actually want to stay in that space. Revision is the topic of the class I’m teaching at Piper and I’m excited to talk about it!

Q: Favorite indulgence?

A: I don’t think of it as an ‘indulgence’ but more of an ‘existential meditative practice’ – I have to watch a little bit of the television show “Friday Night Lights” every day. As in every day.

Q: Do you have any hidden/surprising talents?

A: I have B-List Celebrity-Dar. I know when I’ll have an encounter before it happens.

Q: What is the best piece of writing advice you've ever received?

A: Yo Yo Ma: ”Am I trying to get it right? Or am I trying to find something?”
