About Ruth Douthitt

ASU alum, R. A. Douthitt is a local author of several books for middle grade readers, including the Moonbeam Children's Book Award winning Children series. She has also written The Dragon Forest trilogy in addition to illustrating and writing the first in a spin-off series, The Elves of Vulgaard: The White Wolf. Currently, she is completing her novel, Leaving Eden, the third-place winner of the Missouri Romance Writers of America: Gate to the Best contest. When she isn't writing or working at Grand Canyon University as a curriculum developer, Ruth gardens, paints, and draws her original art as well as runs marathons and ultra-marathons. Ruth is the current president of Christian Writers of the West and an active member of the American Christian Fiction Writers as well as Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators. She resides in Phoenix with her husband of 30 years with their adult son living nearby.
