Jacqueline Aguilar is the Managing Director and Marketing Editor of Iron City Magazine: Creative Expressions By and For the Incarcerated. She is an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults student at Spalding University and a submission reader for The Louisville Review. Her work has appeared in Issue 12 of Write On, Downtown and in azcentral's poetry spot.

While there have always been models for online and distance learning, the ways we think about engagement are changing in the wake of COVID-19. What do we gain through low-residency MFA programs, online classes, or other models for distance learning? What do we lose? How do virtual spaces create greater access? Who might still be excluded or left out? What do effective online or low-residency programs look like? How can we structure and support our creative practices at home?
