About Dexter L. Booth
Dexter L. Booth is the author of Scratching the Ghost (Graywolf Press, 2013), which won the 2012 Cave Canem Poetry Prize and was selected by Major Jackson, as well as the chapbook Rhapsody (Upper Rubber Boot Books, 2019). Booth’s poems have been included in the anthologies The Best American Poetry 2015, The Burden of Light: Poems on Illness and Loss, The Golden Shovel Anthology honoring Gwendolyn Brooks, and Furious Flower: Seeding the Future of African American Poetry. Booth is currently a Contributing Editor for Waxwing Journal and recently received his Ph.D. in Creative Writing from the University of Southern California. He is a professor in the Ashland University MFA program and his second collection, Abracadabra, Sunshine is forthcoming from Red Hen Press in 2021.
