About Celina Osuna
Celina Osuna’s work explores the literature, art, and film from and about the Desert Southwest and emphasizes the abundance of multicultural, multiethnic, multi-species stories of desert environments. She is especially interested in human and more-than-human entanglements of the desert, such as geological time and elemental forces like light and heat. Her dissertation centered desert distortion as a way of knowing—an experiment in the field of Desert Humanities. She earned her PhD in literature at Arizona State University, where she is now Assistant Director of Desert Humanities and Coordinator for the Institute for Humanities Research.
