The Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing and Local to Global Justice invite you to join us at the Piper Writers House on the ASU Tempe campus to welcome Kenyan poet and spoken word artist, Qui Qarre. Qui performs poetry based on her life experiences and themes of social concern in English, Swahili and Sheng. She is based in Nairobi, Kenya. Her talent has enabled her to perform in various places which include Nairobi, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Boston, Zanzibar and many others. Qui is the Founder of “Tears of The Pen Poetry” a movement based in Nairobi, where she coaches poets and mentors young girls in poetry.

Join us at Changing Hands Bookstore in Phoenix for a community open mic culminating in a reading from internationally renowned Kenyan spoken word artist Qui Qarre.
