About this Event

Each week of Poetry Month the Piper Center will host a “Write-in” comprised of 30 minutes of discussion from a local poetry expert, and 60 minutes of writing time.

Dr. Katie Berta will offer insights on the submission process for literary journals. As a poet herself, and as the managing editor for The Iowa Review Berta offers a special perspective on journal publishing.

About the Author

Katie Berta currently lives in Tempe, Arizona and works as the Managing Editor of The Iowa Review. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Prairie Schooner, The Kenyon Review Online, The Iowa Review, Blackbird, The Rumpus, Sixth Finch, Redivider, Massachusetts Review, Green Mountains Review, and The Offing, among other magazines.
