About this Event

Join the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Humanities Division for an informal social gathering and poetry reading with ASU professor, poet, and Virginia G. Piper Fellow-in-Residence Bojan Louis on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the lounge at Crescent Ballroom (308 N 2nd Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85003).

The social will begin at 5:00 p.m. The reading will begin at 5:30. Louis will be starting as an Associate Professor at the University of Arizona this Fall. Come say goodbye and wish him luck before he leaves!

Drinks and food will be available for purchase from Crescent Ballroom. Parking is available in paid lots and meters on side streets. Crescent is also a short walk from the lightrail at Van Buren and Central.

While encouraged, RSVPs are purely for the purposes of monitoring attendance, gauging interest, and communicating information about parking, directions, and other aspects of the event. You do not have to register or RSVP to attend this event. This event is open to the public and free.

Bojan Louis (Diné) is the author of the poetry collection Currents (BkMk Press 2017), which received a 2018 American Book Award, and the nonfiction chapbook Troubleshooting Silence in Arizona (The Guillotine Series 2012). He is an assistant professor in the Creative Writing and American Indian Studies programs at the University of Arizona.
