About Emily Forney
Emily Forney is a young adult writer who spends a majority of her time writing digitally about pop culture, internet culture, and identity. Emily is an associate literary agent for BookEnds literary, and specializes in kidlit, representing a mix of picture books, middle grade, and young adult fiction. She has taught university rhetoric and composition courses for the past five years, has been an assistant fiction editor at a popular fiction press, and has recently been a publishing and editorial fellow for the LA Review of Books. She writes about identity and youth through her experiences as a young black woman, particularly focusing on genre fiction as a means to explore tropes otherwise dominated by white voices.
