About Steve Pyne
Steve Pyne is the author of over 30 books on topics that include Antarctica, the Grand Canyon, the Voyager mission, the Pleistocene, and above all the history of fire on Earth. Among his awards are two NEH fellowships, two fellowships to the National Humanities Center, a MacArthur Fellowship, membership in the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a Regents professorship, and the Robert Kirsch Award for lifetime contribution to American letters. He has been at ASU since 1985, and is now in the School of Life Sciences. He spearheaded the effort to create a Certificate in Nonfiction Writing and Publishing, which is co-sponsored by the Piper House.
